Privacy Policy

Siloed (“we”, “us”) operates the Service. This policy covers the website at siloed.ai and its subdomains, the Siloed desktop application, and the services behind them (together, the “Service”). We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Terms used but not defined in this policy have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.

• Siloed reads the accounts you connect and the content you add in order to build your silos. That is the product, and it is the only reason we hold your content.
• We keep only what a silo admits. Email, events and transcripts that no silo needs are not stored.
• We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use your content to train general-purpose AI models.
• Your content is shared only with the people you share it with, and with the service providers we need to run the Service.
• You can disconnect a source, delete a silo, or delete your account at any time.

Account information

When you sign in through an identity provider such as Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use your email address to identify you, to send you invitations and notices about your silos, and to contact you about the Service.

Invite requests

If you ask for an invite on siloed.ai, the email address you give us goes on a waitlist held by our sign-in provider, WorkOS, so that we can invite you. We use it for nothing else, and we remove it when you ask or once you have been invited and your account exists.

Connected account data

When you connect a source, we access it on your behalf: for example, messages and attachments from your email, events from your calendars, and transcripts and notes from your meetings. This data usually includes information about other people, such as the senders and recipients of your email and the participants in your meetings.

The Service scans a connected source for things that match the description of a silo. Only the parts a silo admits are stored: the admitted document (so that you can see where a piece of knowledge came from) and the knowledge derived from it. Candidates that match nothing are not kept. Some sources that cannot be searched after the fact, such as meeting transcripts, are held in a short rolling window so that new silos can look back over recent meetings.

Content you add

Files, text, links and notes you add to a silo; the voice or text interviews in which you describe a silo, and their transcripts; instructions and messages you give to the Service’s assistants; and edits you make to cover pages.

Derived data

The plans, items, cover pages, summaries, indexes and embeddings we generate from the content above in order to run your silos.

Usage and diagnostic information

Log data such as your IP address, browser or app version, operating system, the actions you take in the Service and when you took them, and error reports. We use this to keep the Service working and secure.

Data on your device

The desktop application keeps a local copy of your silos so that they are fast to search and available offline, and writes a diagnostic log on your computer. This data stays on your device unless you send it to us.

Cookies

The Service uses cookies and similar tokens only to keep you signed in and to protect against abuse. The siloed.ai website does not set tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or remarketing.

• To provide the Service: to build, update, search and display your silos and cover pages, and to share them with the people you choose.
• To operate, secure and improve the Service, including debugging, preventing abuse, and understanding how the Service is used in aggregate.
• To communicate with you about your account, your silos and changes to the Service. We may also send you occasional product news, which you can opt out of at any time.
• To comply with the law and to enforce our Terms.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent where we ask for it (for example, when you connect a source), and compliance with legal obligations.

The Service uses machine-learning models to decide what belongs in a silo, to extract and summarize knowledge, to write cover pages, to answer questions and to power voice interviews. To do this we send content to model providers, currently including OpenAI and Voyage AI, under agreements that prohibit them from using your content to train their models and that require them to delete it after processing, subject to short retention for abuse monitoring where their terms require it.

We do not use your content to train general-purpose models of our own or anyone else’s.

If you connect a silo to a third-party assistant or agent (for example, through its MCP endpoint), the content that assistant reads is governed by its provider’s privacy policy, not ours.

Siloed’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, if you connect Gmail or Google Calendar:

• We use that data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Service that you can see, such as building your silos and cover pages.
• We do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets with notice to you.
• We do not use it for advertising.
• We do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit permission, when needed for security or to comply with the law, or when it has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
• We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

You can revoke Siloed’s access at any time from within the Service or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

We share your information in these cases and no others:

• People you share with. Members of a silo you share can read its knowledge and cover page. Anyone with the link to a cover page you have published can read that page. The original documents behind a silo are visible only to the person who connected them.
• Service providers. Companies that process data for us so we can run the Service: cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services, Render, Neon), sign-in (WorkOS), transactional email (Amazon SES, SendGrid), and the model providers named above. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
• Legal reasons. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Siloed, our users or the public.
• Business transfers. If Siloed is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent, in any other case.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We keep your content for as long as your account is active and it is needed to run your silos.

• Disconnecting a source stops new content from flowing in from it. Knowledge already admitted to your silos stays until you remove it or the silo.
• Deleting a silo removes its knowledge, cover page and the documents kept for it.
• Deleting your account removes your silos, your connected-account data and your derived data from our active systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days. Knowledge you contributed to another person’s silo may remain in that silo; the original documents it came from are removed.

We may keep usage and diagnostic logs for up to 12 months, and we may keep information longer where the law requires it or where it is needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our Terms. Anything on your own device stays there until you remove it.

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Credentials for your connected accounts are stored encrypted. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to run the Service and is logged. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that yours will never be breached. If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@siloed.ai.

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards for those transfers.

You can disconnect sources, delete silos and export a silo’s knowledge from within the Service. To access, correct, export or delete other information, or to close your account, email support@siloed.ai. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, to withdraw consent where we rely on it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law. We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.

You can opt out of product news at any time using the link in those emails or by writing to us. We will still send you notices that are necessary to run your account.

The Service is for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
